EYSA teams are split into three team formats and six age groups.
6-a-Side
Six players per team on the soccer field during the game (goalie plus 5 field players).
The 6-a-side format is used for the 5/6, 7/8 and 15/16 year old girls age groups.
The 5/6 and 6/7 age groups are co-ed and use a size 3 soccer ball.
The 15/16 girls age group uses a size 5 ball.
8-a-Side
Eight players per team on the soccer field (a goalie plus seven field players). The 8-a-side format is only used in the 9/10 age group.
The 9/10 age group is co-ed and uses a size 4 soccer ball.
Full Size
The full size field is from 100 to 130 yards long and from 50 to 100 yards wide. Eleven players per team on the field (a goalie and ten field players). The full size format includes the 11/12 and 13/14 year old girls and 13/14/15 boys age groups.
The 11/12 age group has separate girls and boys teams and uses a size 4 soccer ball, while the 13/14 and 13/14/15 age groups use a size 5 soccer ball.
